    Eighty members of the Brandeis community, including students, alumni and guests, attended the Networking Night.... The event began with an alumni panel featuring Edgar Ndjatou '06, Michael Waxman '96 and Amanda Zehner, MA'11, and moderated by Joel Rubin '93. Gary Wingens '85, P'14, and his staff at Lowenstein Sandler generously hosted the event, which was co-sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center and the Alumni Club of Washington, D.C.

  • Alumni recruit Brandeis students at spring career fair

    Countless opportunities and connections were discovered by more than 260 students and 54 employers at the 2016 Just In Time Job & Internship Fair.... Sponsored by the career centers at Brandeis University, this event featured open networking followed by on-site interviews. The fair was an opportunity for current students to show off their professional skills and for employers and alumni to meet excellent candidates to fill immediate openings at their organizations. Some Boston area alumni attended the fair for their own job search while others played a role in connecting Brandeis with their employers. Danielle Vella '06; Deena Horowtiz '13; Makia Kulokova '07; Ben Fine '14; Lori Dunn, MA'14; Jason Baur '05; Andrew Needleman '98; and Emma Green '13 represented their companies at the fair.

  • Brandeis Networking Night in New York City

    This annual event in New York City brought together Brandeis alumni, parents and students of varying class years and experience levels.... Brandeis Networking Night was sponsored by Hiatt Career Center and the Alumni Club of New York City and hosted by Gary Wingens '85, P'14. The event took place at Lowenstein Sandler and featured an open environment in which colorful name tags helped identify members of different industries. Special thanks to the parents and alumni who signed up to be networking resources for others.

  • Brandeis Networking Night in Washington, D.C.

    The annual Brandeis Networking Night in Washington, D.C., opened with a talk from Julie Verratti '04, a former attorney who is now the co-owner of one of the area’s hottest craft breweries, Denizens Brewing Co.... Following the talk, Brandeis alumni and students of various class years and experience levels networked, using colored name tags to identify members of different industries. The event was co-sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center and the Alumni Club of Washington, D.C. Thanks are owed to event hosts Gary Wingens '85, P'14, and Hilla Shimshoni '09 of Lowenstein Sandler, and to the alumni who signed up to be networking resources for others.

  • Biotech, Health & Science Industry Night

    November 18, 2015

    More than 30 industry representatives from 25 different organizations met and networked with students and alumni for this annual Brandeis event sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center.... Students participated in a case competition for which James Prudent, P'19, president and CEO of Centrose, served as a panelist. More than 160 students and alumni then networked and chatted about their mutual interests in the industries represented and took turns getting a professional headshot taken at the LinkedIn photo booth.   • Alumni athletes and students talk careers at Homecoming 2015

    More than a dozen alumni athletes returned to campus for a networking reception to share their career paths.... The “Where are they now?” Alumni-Student Athlete Networking Event was held during Homecoming weekend. The afternoon reception kicked off with a panel of four successful alumni athletes moderated by Jessica Bergman ’91. Additional alumni panelists included Carmela Bertha ’10, Jayne Bussman-Wise ’04 and Eric Berkson ’94. Following the panel, students, panelists and additional alumni athletes mingled together at round tables by specific fields and industries. Alumni volunteers included James Collins ’09; Amy Gelpey ’90; Christian Yemga ’11; Josh Hoffman-Senn ’13; Zachary Meyerowitz ’12; Ken Ringdahl ’97; John Fobia ’73, P’11; Paul Norton ’11; and Barry Harsip ’73.

  • Alumni and students network at Social Impact Fair

    Brandeis hosted the Social Impact Job, Internship and Volunteer Fair, sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center, Department of Community Service and the Waltham Group,... This event was the largest of the fall semester, attracting more than 120 students to network with 60 unique employers for internships, jobs and gap year service opportunities. Hyatt is especially grateful to Amanda Marshall ’14 and Joni Kusminsky ’14 for their participation in this event.

  • Alumni help more than 150 Brandeis students explore careers in business

    More than 20 Boston area alumni returned to campus for Industry Night: Business, Consulting, Finance and Marketing.... The evening began with a case challenge judged by a panel of experts from Dunkin Brands, Case Study Consulting, Liberty Mutual and New Forest Capital. Following the case challenge, alumni industry representatives and employer partners were stationed at tables by industry to talk with students and fellow alumni interested in their field, function or industry.   • 20+ Alumni Recruit Brandeis Students at "Just In Time" Career Fair

    Over 20 Brandeis alumni and many other employer representatives were on campus on Tuesday, April 8 for the "Just In Time" Job and Internship Fair, sponsored by the career centers at Brandeis University.... This event was the largest recruiting event of the year, attracting over 330 students to network with 62 unique employers for open jobs and internships in a variety of industries. Employers conducted 184 interviews with attendees following the fair for immediate openings at their organizations.   • Alumni serve as volunteer interview coaches for students

    12 Boston area alumni and employer volunteers were back on campus on Wednesday, March 12, for the Hiatt Career Center's Interview Coaching Night.... The volunteers conducted 46 practice interviews and offered constructive feedback to help current students improve their skills in advance of summer internship and full-time job applications. Alumni volunteers represented a variety of companies - from executive search firms to family law practices - and class years - from 1953 to 2012. Volunteers included: Lois Lindauer '53, Dr. Linda Shapiro '62, Sharyn T. Sooho '69, Melissa Stepno '99, Sanchali Biswas '01, Daniela Egan '04, Isaac Judd '04, Jessica Sedaca '07, Tom Quinn, MBA'10, Anna Kaufman '10 and Brian Dalben '12. The Hiatt Career Center will host another interview coaching night in the fall (date TBD).     Close to 80 alumni, current students and guests gathered at Brandeis House on January 7 for Be BOLD in the Big Apple, sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center and the Alumni Club of New York City.... The event was an opportunity for Brandeis alumni and students to connect over Winter Break about what it's really like living and working in New York. Moderated by Josh Gondelman '07, the evening began with a funny alumni panel featuring Joshua Louis Simon '07, David Klasko '07, Julie Albert '08, and Jenna Scherer '06. Following the panel, attendees participated in open networking.

    Over 35 alumni, current students and guests gathered at the Law Offices of Steptoe and Johnson on January 9 for a special networking night, sponsored by the Hiatt Career Center and the Alumni Club of Washington, DC.... The event was an opportunity for Brandeis alumni and students to connect over Winter Break about what it's really like living and working in our nation's capital.   • Alumni in Biotech, Health and Science Back to Network, Help Students

    More than 35 Boston-based alumni returned to campus on November 12 for a cocktail networking reception to reconnect with Brandeis and fellow alumni in their field.... After the reception, 43 industry volunteers (including 21 alumni) hosted networking tables to share career advice with current students at the Hiatt Career Center's 5th Annual Biotech, Health & Science Forum. The event also featured an alumni panel discussion on technology's role in improving health outcomes, moderated by Steve Usdin, senior editor at BioCentury. Panelists included Willis Chandler ’97, MBA, executive vice president at Shields Pharmacy Services; Kimberly Lindfield, PhD ’96, director of biostatistics at Cubist Pharmaceuticals; and Jon Waldstreicher '05, M.D., M.B.A., principal at Apple Tree Partners. New this year, the panel was streamed live to an online audience of Brandeis alumni and friends.   • Alumni Take Part in the Hiatt Career Center's Practice Interview Day

    Ten volunteers, including eight Boston area alumni, were back on campus on Thursday, November 7, for the Hiatt Career Center's Practice Interview Day.... The volunteers conducted 33 simulated interviews and offered constructive feedback to help current students improve their skills in advance of spring internship and full-time job applications. Alumni volunteers represented a variety of industries - from human resources to economic consulting - and class years - from 1961 to 2010. Volunteers included: Lesley Kingsley '61, Etta Lappen Davis '73, John Parcellin '74, Mary Rosen '82, JD, Hillary Grossman Rosenfeld '86, Melissa Stepno '99, Anna Kaufman '10 and Nadir Daudi '10. Deborah Shufrin '93, director of investments at Brandeis, delivered the keynote address.
